Debbie Kovesdy, CEO

Debbie was a high school technology teacher, IT Support, GenYes advisor, and Professional

Development Tech Trainer for Paradise Valley Schools for over 20 years. While teaching ‘techie kids’, she realized that when given generous opportunities to lead, her students were true innovators, bright thinkers and had a marketable skill set to share with a non technical world.  GenYes won many regional and national technical and entrepreneurship competitions before her students suggested they start their own tech business.  Generation Tech started with 22 students and Debbie in 2016.  More

Generation Tech Support was an idea developed by Shadow Mountain High School GenYES students and their instructor, Debbie Kovesdy. For years, students completed work on this real world business project, drafted a professional business plan, designed an operational handbook, calculated profit & loss scenarios, evaluated several methods of operation and aligned with industry tech leaders.

The GenYes Entrepreneurship team won first place, gold medals in State and National SkillsUSA Championships in the summer of 2015. Many industry leaders enthusiastically supported their idea and encouraged further development. After a unanimous vote by vested students, the “GenTechs” elected to “go out on their own.” They sought mentors and capital.

January 2016, Debbie Kovesdy submitted to the Cisco Foundation, an application to the Global Impact Grant program, identifying a clear mission to empower technology students by providing to the general public; a service to understand emerging technologies.

January 2019, Oliver Carter, a former aerospace engineer, walked in to help teach Python to children. He immediately saw the unique educational approach, passion and desire to solve big real world problems and is now a full partner with Debbie to transform GenTech to its full potential.

GenTechs will benefit in scholarships and company profits.
Our student enterprise envisions building a successful business model that will expand to many school districts to replicate the prototype, once fully developed. Interested technology students are invited to participate and will collaborate with GenTechs to advance tech skills and form enterprise hubs around their schools.

GenTech stores will feature storefront technology services customers and a behind the scenes space to learn, corroborate, make, invent, create and certify future GenTechs.

When you visit a Generation Tech Support store, you are not only advancing your own personal tech skills and expertise, you are supporting student entrepreneurship.
